This panel is a working demonstration, including code samples and scripts, that will walk the participants through the process of deploying an application into Amazon Web Services (AWS). There will be 3 different applications to choose from as part of this workshop: iPython Notebook, a "Breakout" clone in Python, and a simple Web Application (webserver, application server, database). Topics Covered: 1. Setting up an EC2 instance (The hell is an EC2?) 2. Load Balancers (Do I even need one?) 3. Automating software installation & configuration (Mash the keyboard once, run a hundred times) 4. Testing, Hardening, & Validations (It's not working... oh wait! It is working!!) All code samples, scripts, and materials will be made available via GitHub.
