We often use words like "Volts", "Amps", "AC", "DC", "Watts", "Power", and "Energy", but few of us have a good, intuitive understanding of what these terms really mean. This is a mildly technical talk which breaks down some of the mysteries of electric power by creating analogies with physical things we're more familiar with (like water being pumped through a pipe.) Topics include the difference between AC and DC power (and where and why they're used), what Voltage, Amperage, and Wattage are, how different types of motors work, and how electric power is converted between different forms in various ways.
